May 26th, 2020, Adult-use, Cannabis Law, Public Policy, Regulatory

Maine’s Office of Marijuana Policy (OMP) and contractor Metrc have scheduled training opportunities for prospective and conditional adult use licensees. The use of the state’s track and trace portal is mandatory for adult use licensees in Maine, and each establishment is required designate a Metrc administrator during the licensing process.

Starting on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, Metrc will begin hosting webinar-based training classes for Maine-based licensees. Training classes will occur 3x/week and continue for the foreseeable future.

Training classes will be offered on the following days and times:

  • Tuesdays at 1:00 PM
  • Wednesdays at 9:00 AM
  • Fridays at 10:00 AM

Training and the successful completion of a comprehension examination is required for all designated track and trace administrators. OMP and Metrc strongly recommended that any employee planning to operate in the Metrc system take the new business training course to ensure they uniformly and accurately utilize the system.

Training is available through the Metrc website at: https://www.metrc.com/maine. The link to register appears below OMP’s logo as “Schedule Training Now.”
